Since October, Sendelta's "Fluorescent Agent" Life Science Winter Camp has been open for registration. We've sorted out common questions from students and parents for detailed answers~
首先，iGEM绝非“生物学霸的专属”！
iGEM（国际基因工程机器大赛）由麻省理工学院2003年创办，现已成为全球辐射范围较广、参与规格较高的STEM与商科的综合性活动。至今为止，iGEM挑战已经持续了22年，来自全球66个国家，共计5,000+项目、100,000+学生参与到这个高含金量的国际挑战中。
核心属性：跨学科协作是灵魂，覆盖生物、计算机、经管、传媒、社科等多个领域，团队需共同完成“实验设计-成果转化-宣传推广”的完整项目。

What kind of competition is iGEM?
First, iGEM is by no means "exclusive to biology top students"!
iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition), founded by MIT in 2003, has become a comprehensive global STEM and business event with wide reach and high participation standards. Over 22 years, it has attracted 5,000+ projects and 100,000+ students from 66 countries.
Core Attribute: Interdisciplinary collaboration is its soul, covering biology, computer science, management, media, social sciences, etc. Teams must complete the full project cycle of "experimental design - achievement transformation - promotion".
Competition Value: Highly recognized by top universities worldwide (Ivy League, Tsinghua, Peking University, etc.). An increasing number of domestic and international high schools participate. The experience is a "hardcore resume" for college applications and an excellent platform to cultivate scientific research thinking and teamwork.

iGEM团队的分工核心是“科研成果产出+社会价值落地”的双轮驱动，因此分为两大核心分队，两组人员协同形成完整项目闭环，无论你擅长实验、人文关怀，更或是创新创业，都有专属位置。
冬令营以沉浸式生物实验为核心体验，白天带你全程实操核心实验；同时开设晚间商科workshop，让你在深耕科研的同时，也能接触商业化运营知识，精准定位自身优势领域！
湿队：实验室里的“科研攻坚组”，用实验产出核心成果
湿队是项目的“科学内核”，聚焦合成生物学实验的设计与落地，适合热爱动手操作、对生命科学感兴趣的同学。

作为湿队统筹者，负责整体协调工作。
组织制定实验总进度表，分配各岗位任务并把控节点；衔接干队明确数据需求与Wiki搭建标准；对接导师解决实验技术瓶颈。
湿队实验执行核心，制定实验方案、精确操作确保数据、记录结果写报告，覆盖实验全流程。
承担湿队技术与数据支撑工作，包括收集整理实验数据、建立数学模型。
建议同学们可以同时参与双方向，以达到参赛收获最大化。
本次冬令营由双一流大学硕博导师助阵、iGEM金牌导师手把手教学，以“中心法则”为理论核心，亲手操作大肠杆菌的转化与培养，在规范操作中强化实验数据的精准记录与分析能力，是一次锻炼iGEM湿队素养的绝佳机会。
干队负责带着实验室成果“走出去”，变成能落地、有社会影响力的项目。从商业方案策划、活动运营，到宣传内容创作，都在我们的工作范畴内。
作为干队统筹者，负责整体协调工作。
按成员优势精准拆分企划、宣传、调研等任务并把控进度，同时搭建干队与湿队的高效协作桥梁。
摸索课题的商业价值也是iGEM竞赛的关键！
本小组聚焦 “商业落地”，思考如何在未来几年把课题技术成果做出有市场需求的产品并攥写商业计划，阐述产品形态、商业模式、未来五年的创业计划。
好的课题、好的品牌都需要被认真传播！
本小组同学负责打造团队Logo、海报、易拉宝、队服、文创周边产品等视觉 IP；记录实验影像、制作宣传视频，运营社交账号（例如微信公众号、小红书、抖音、B站等）输出科研内容，并美化Wiki 网页让科研成果和价值传播到普罗大众。
积极与外界各利益相关方进行沟通也是iGEM推崇的价值观！
本小组同学要开展社会调研以了解公众对项目的认知与需求；与课题相关行业专家、教授对话探讨可行方案；制作通俗科普手册、举办线上分享会传递合成生物学知识，提升项目社会认可度。
冬令营将帮助意向加入iGEM干队的同学直观理解科研成果转化逻辑，为干队市场宣传、商业企划等工作筑牢基础，精准把握科研核心价值并积累跨学科协作经验。同时将参与一日企业参访，实地观察生物医药企业商业运作全流程，学习科研成果市场化转化路径与企业运营模式，为后续干队商业企划、市场推广等工作积累实战参考。
How is an iGEM team structured? Wet Team + Dry Team, Both Indispensable
The team division focuses on "scientific research output + social value implementation", forming two core teams for a complete project cycle. Whether you excel in experiments, humanistic care, or innovation, there's a role for you.
The winter camp centers on immersive biology experiments (full-day hands-on core experiments) and offers evening business workshops, allowing you to delve into scientific research while learning commercial operation knowledge to identify your strengths!
Wet Team: "Scientific Research Task Force" in the Lab, Delivering Core Results Through Experiments
The "scientific core" of the project, focusing on synthetic biology experiment design and implementation. Suitable for students who love hands-on operations and are interested in life sciences.
Core Roles & Tasks (Captain Coordination + Dual-Direction Collaboration)
Overall coordination, formulating experiment schedules, assigning tasks, connecting with the Dry Team, and consulting mentors for technical issues.
Core experiment execution—designing plans, precise operations, data recording, and report writing.
Mathematics&Engineering Direction
Technical and data support—collecting data and building mathematical models.
Recommendation: Participate in both directions for maximum gains.
How Does the Winter Camp Help Join the Wet Team?
Guided by master's/PhD tutors from double first-class universities and iGEM gold medal coaches, the camp focuses on the "central dogma" theory. You'll hands-on perform E. coli transformation and culture, enhancing experimental data recording and analysis skills—ideal for developing wet team competencies.
Dry Team: "Value Transformation Group" Beyond the Arena, Making Achievements Visible to the World
Responsible for transforming lab results into actionable, socially impactful projects—covering business planning, operation, and promotion.
Core Roles & Tasks (Captain Coordination + Three-Direction Collaboration)
Overall coordination, assigning tasks (planning, promotion, research), and facilitating collaboration with the Wet Team.
Finance, Economics & Marketing Direction
Exploring commercial value—developing market-oriented products, writing business plans (product form, business model, 5-year startup plan).
Media, Art & Photography Direction
Brand building—designing visual IP (logo, posters, team uniforms), producing promotional videos, managing social media accounts, and optimizing Wiki pages.
Social Sciences, Political Science & Law Direction
Stakeholder communication—conducting social surveys, consulting experts, creating popular science materials, and hosting online sharing sessions to enhance social recognition.
How Does the Winter Camp Help Join the Dry Team?

队长：iGEM团队的“核心领航员”，不是“指挥官”而是“协调者”
iGEM队长并非“全能学霸”专属，而是团队的“粘合剂”与“方向舵”，核心能力是“统筹规划+高效协作”，适合有责任心、善于沟通的同学。
