In 2017, the founder, driven by passion, established "pure American-style education with a soul" – SMCS. As the Shanghai campus of Springfield Commonwealth Academy in the United States, the school has always adhered to its core philosophy: "Integrating Chinese and Western cultures to practice scientific literacy; cultivating oneself and guiding others to master high-tech innovation". With refined educational process management and in-depth focus on students' individual growth, SMCS has earned a unique reputation in the field of international education.

Different from the traditional model of "high-intensity, homogeneous competition for all", SMCS integrates high-quality educational resources from China and the United States, combines advanced teaching concepts with personalized growth paths, and helps students shape a unique application profile at a suitable pace to unlock their maximum potential. Golden International Curriculum System

学校提供AP、A-Level及A-Level德语方向三大主流课程体系，涵盖33门IGCSE与A-Level课程、21门AP课程及38门标准与荣誉课程。课程不受到年级本身的限制，可以根据自身基础以及未来申请方向进行“混年级走班制”学习，更多的科目，意味着孩子也拥有未来发展更多的可能，充分发挥美式教育的灵活性与个性化优势。

SMCS sets three mainstream curriculum systems: AP, A-Level, and A-Level German Track. It covers 33 IGCSE and A-Level courses, 21 AP courses, and 38 standard and honors courses. Courses are not restricted by grade level; students can adopt a "cross-grade and flexible class selection system" based on their academic foundation and future application direction. More course options mean more possibilities for students' future development, fully leveraging the flexibility and personalization advantages of American-style education.

"Smaller than Small-Class" Precision Teaching

教学实施层面，学校坚持比小班更小的超小班分层教学，课程表为每位学生量身定制，在保障学科基础扎实的同时，努力构建一条更科学、更个性、更高效的升学路径：

In terms of teaching implementation, SMCS adheres to ultra-small class stratified teaching (even smaller than regular small classes). Each student receives a tailor-made class schedule, ensuring a solid academic foundation while building a more scientific, personalized, and efficient path to university admission:

低年级（G8-9）主张学生充分探索兴趣、积极参与PBL及ECA课程，夯实基础、拒绝无效内卷；

Lower grades (G8-9): Encourage students to fully explore interests, actively participate in Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA), consolidate foundations, and avoid ineffective internal competition.

高年级（G10-11-12）进行职业能力测评，根据每个学生自己的兴趣和未来发展方向，建立生涯规划方案，精准聚焦专业及学校、实现高效冲刺，拿下统考高分。

Upper grades (G10-11-12): Conduct career aptitude assessments, develop career planning programs based on each student's interests and future development direction, focus on specific majors and universities, and achieve efficient preparation for high scores in public examinations.

针对学科特长、艺术体育专长或特殊学习进度的学生，提供“个人学校”服务，定制专属课表与作息，确保教学精准匹配每个学生当前水平，实现优势强化与短板补足。

For students with academic strengths, artistic/athletic talents, or special learning progress, SMCS provides a "Personalized School" service, with customized class schedules and daily routines. This ensures teaching accurately matches each student's current level, strengthening strengths and addressing weaknesses.

这种模式既有效避免“听不懂”或“吃不饱”的学习困境，也能避免过度内卷带来的疲倦与焦虑，让学生在适合自己的节奏中，最大化潜能，直达目标。

This model effectively avoids the learning dilemmas of "not understanding the content" or "not being challenged enough", as well as fatigue and anxiety caused by excessive internal competition. It allows students to maximize their potential at a suitable pace and reach their goals directly.

These PBL projects are not isolated activities but interdisciplinary learning that integrates economics, management, engineering, computer science, and other disciplines. Students can also complete the CREST Award and AP Capstone through the "Pathfinder Program"; their research capabilities and comprehensive literacy are widely recognized by top global universities. Universities admission results are the most direct test of the teaching process. Since its establishment:

80% of graduates were admitted to QS Top 30 universities;

With an average AP score of 4.35 and a high A/A* rate in A-Level examinations, SMCS students have been admitted to top institutions worldwide, from Stanford University to Parsons School of Design (with a scholarship of RMB 310,000 awarded to one student).

招生对象

Target Enrollees

国内、国际课程初二、初三、高一、高二在读学生。不限户籍，学生成绩优良、身心健康。

Currently enrolled students in Grade 8, Grade 9, Grade 10, and Grade 11 of domestic and international curricula. There is no restriction on household registration. Students shall have excellent academic performance and good physical and mental health.
