Good morning/afternoon, dear teachers and fellow students!
First of all, I'd like to share with you several wonderful competitions that allow us to get close to the world of business and economics. They are not only stages to show ourselves, but also precious opportunities for us to accumulate knowledge and improve our abilities.
The first one to introduce is the ASDAN Business Simulation Competition. It is a challenging and interesting business practical exercise, and the regional competition includes four core links. In the Auction, we need to bid for resources with a keen business sense; in the Roadshow, we have to clearly present the team's business plan to the "investors"; in the Operation stage, we must carefully analyze the market report and make reasonable business decisions; the Business Battle is a competition of the team's comprehensive strength. Moreover, the competition has a sound promotion system, from the Regional Round to the National Semi-Finals, and then to the Global Finals. Every step can help us gain growth.
Next is the International Economics Olympiad (IEO). Its selection path is clear, starting from the Preliminary Round in November 2025, followed by the National Round, Asia Round, and finally the Global Round. The Preliminary Round is divided into the High School Division and the Middle School Division. The High School Division needs to complete 50 English multiple-choice questions in 80 minutes, and the Middle School Division needs to complete 25 Chinese-English multiple-choice questions in 50 minutes. The award setting is also very generous. The top 10% in the national ranking can get the National Honor Award, and the top 20% can get the High Distinction. This is not only an honor, but also an affirmation of our economics knowledge.
There is also the National Economics Challenge (NEC). It has different divisions suitable for students with different foundations. The Pre Division is for beginners with no foundation, the DR Division is for students who have completed one introductory economics course, and the AS Division is prepared for students who have completed both micro and macroeconomics. The competition is participated in the form of teams of 2-4 people, divided into multiple phases, including economics knowledge assessment, case study analysis, economic innovation challenge and live quiz bowl. Excellent teams and individuals can win awards, and the top 40% of the teams can advance to the National Finals.
The registration fees for these competitions are quite reasonable. The ASDAN Business Simulation Competition and the NEC Challenge cost about 600 RMB, and the IEO Preliminary Round costs 240 RMB. Moreover, the school will have teachers to provide us with pre-competition training and guidance to help everyone prepare for the competition better.
Dear classmates, these business competitions are like windows that let us see the real business operation and the charm of economics. Whether you are curious about business or want to improve your logical thinking and teamwork skills, they are excellent choices. If you are interested, please remember to contact the economics teacher for more details and don't miss this great opportunity to improve yourself!
Thank you!
