Fashion Design

ECA Visual Arts
The Extra Curricular Activities(ECA), as a global curriculum system, is committed to cultivating well-rounded talents. ASJ Foshan takes this as its foundation and integrates the ECA program into the practice of “whole-person education” to create a student-centered growth field - where interests are nourished, horizons are expanded, and comprehensive abilities are continuously forged. The school offers six major divs and more than 60 courses to help students realize the power of growth in real situations and gradually move towards comprehensive development and inner maturity.
Now, let's enjoy the works of the students in the Visual Arts div and witness how they touch the texture of the world and express themselves in their artistic creations.
01.
Pottery Course

Foshan is a city with a deep tradition of pottery, and the students fully drew on the essence of Foshan pottery to create a series of marvelous pottery works during the ECA pottery course.
Beginning with the shaping of classical imagery, the students, under the careful guidance of the teacher, crafted images such as the Demoiselle Hat Woman and the Immortal Man through different techniques, with every detail repeatedly carved to show the flavor and elegance of classical art. At the same time, the students also used their imagination to create cartoonish dolls, clocks and vases, full of childish fun and creativity.

Now, these pottery works are displayed in the campus, which is not only the embodiment of the students' pottery learning achievements, but also the inheritance and innovation of Foshan pottery culture in the new era, showing the students' love for pottery art and unique creativity. The end-of-course display also let more people feel the charm and vitality of Foshan pottery.

02.
Creative Painting

With the theme of “non-heritage”, the first creative painting course opened the door to the world of traditional art for the students. In the classroom, the mystery of Sanxingdui Bronze, the strong colors of face painting, the simplicity of printmaking, the delicacy of cloud-shoulder embroidery, and the spirit of paper-cutting and clay sculpture together weave a cultural dialogue that spans over a thousand years.

This course allows students to touch the temperature of non-heritage in hands-on creation, and allows ancient traditional arts to take on a new life in the brush of youth.

In this semester's creative painting class, students were led by the teacher into the world of several masters of art, and felt the charm of art and the power of creativity in appreciation and creation.

During the course, students were exposed to the artworks of masters such as John Mackey, Juan Miro, Keith Haring, Mondrian, Picasso, Van Gogh and Gauguin. They gained an in-depth understanding of their unique painting symbols, graphic language and color matching characteristics, and used these styles to create their works, cultivating a unique artistic thinking and creative ability.

Primary school children picked up the brushes to practice composition and color matching, and used the brushes to frame the ideas in their minds. They created cartoon characters, gave them personalities, drew fantasy scenes, and drew inspiration from life and nature. In the practice of painting, they gradually mastered painting skills and learned to observe and express the world through artistic perspectives.

03.
Fashion Design

In the clothing design course, students completed a metamorphosis of fashion thinking, feeling the antiquity of non-heritage blue dyeing and the diversity of world fashion.
When exploring blue dyeing, students learned the traditional technique of tie-dyeing and used the dyed fabric to design garments that retained the natural texture of the traditional technique while incorporating the sharp lines of modern tailoring. When these garments are worn on a mannequin, the ancient blue-dyeing technique is also revitalized in a collision with current fashion elements.

In addition, the students also studied fashion design with their teachers. During the creation stage, they transformed their inspiration into real objects - light blue dresses with cascading pleats to show flexibility, black and white matching design with simplicity and personality, irregular dresses with unique cuts to illustrate magnificence, and long dresses with smooth lines to speak of elegance, each piece of work is the crystallization of the collision of different fashion elements.

These works let students understand that fashion design needs to use creativity to give fabrics a soul, and the process of weaving a fashion dream between these traditional and modern, diversified styles also sows the seeds of more surprises for future fashion exploration.
04.
Animation Design

This semester's animation design course came to a successful conclusion, in which students completed a wonderful transformation from a budding cartoonist to a creative master.
At the beginning of the course, everyone mastered the use of hand-drawing tools. With the deepening of learning, the dimension of exploration is gradually expanded: from the basic physical structure of anime characters, to the portrayal of features and gestures, and the stylization of hairstyle design, students continue to break through themselves in the progressive training.
The final works presented in the course are the vivid epitome of this accumulation -- we used different styles of animation character design, or dynamic and playful, or cool and valiant, or warm and healing, so that creativity blossomed on the paper with a different luster.

05.
Woodworking
and Engraving

The exhibition area of the Woodworking and Acrylic Carving course presents the results of the students' exploration of materials and creativity in carving.
The course starts from the basics, and leads you to master the skills of woodworking, as well as familiarize you with the use of knives and line drawing in acrylic carving. In the display area, small woodworking objects with simple or delicate structures practiced the knowledge of skeleton and proportion, while acrylic carvings showed delicate lines through the contrast of black and white. The students fully explored the charm of handicraft art in the creation of two materials.

Art gives you an indelible
mark of growth
From the germination of an idea to the production of a work, the ECA Visual Arts Program not only enables students to master techniques, but also develops “aesthetic literacy, creativity, and critical thinking”. These works of art may still be young, but they are full of power - they are poems written to the world with their hands, and they are proof of the imagination blossoming in the campus.
May this love of art accompany the students as they move forward, interpreting and creating beauty in more diverse ways in the days to come, and letting every ordinary moment shine with the light of art.
