We are pleased to announce that ——Dr. Sarah Rochelle Salazar will serve as the Executive Principal of CISK starting in the 2025–2026 academic year.

Since taking on the role of Primary Years Programme Principal, Dr. Salazar has demonstrated strong educational leadership, a deep care for students, and a solid understanding of the IB philosophy. She has been widely respected by students, teachers, and families alike for her commitment to personalized learning and whole-child development.

Academic Excellence

and Global Perspective

Dr. Salazar holds a Doctoral degree in Special Education from Liberty University, specializing in Curriculum and Instruction. She has served in various educational leadership roles, including Special Populations Coordinator, Bilingual Specialist, University Instructor, and Doctoral Chair.

With years of living and working across the U.S., Europe, and Central America, she brings a rich multicultural lens to CISK’s internationally-minded learning community.

SARAH ROCHELLE SALAZAR

▲ Executive Principal

■Dr. Sarah Salazar, an esteemed education professional, has served as PYP Principal, Assistant Professor of Special Education, Special Populations Coordinator, English Learner Lead Specialist, Special Education Case Worker, Spanish Teacher and Bilingual Homeroom Teacher. Holding a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with a Special Education focus from Liberty University, she boasts multiple honors as a High Distinction Graduate. With extensive experience in special education, bilingual instruction, and parent communication, Dr. Salazar has led innovative policies and practices across multiple schools. She expertly utilizes diverse teaching methodologies to ensure students receive exceptional education. Her dedication extends to community service, showcasing a holistic commitment to education.

YANDING (Peggy) Wen

▲ Vice Principal & MYP Coordinator

■ Ms. Peggy Wen, a graduate of the University of Hong Kong with a degree in Education, and is currently pursuing a EdD in Education at the University of Bath in UK，she has been deeply involved in the IB education field for many years. She firmly believes that CISK is "a place where teachers and students feel warmth and belonging," and fully supports the Executive Principal in handling daily affairs while leading the operations of Secondary and overseeing Chinese language curriculum. From curriculum implementation to teacher and student development, her consistent approach focuses on providing students with diverse practical opportunities to help them build confidence through experience.

KEITH RYAN MCCANN

▲ Head of Academics & DP Coordinator

■ Mr. Keith McCann is from Canada and holds degrees in education and economics.

With over a decade of teaching experience, he is well versed in teaching and academic leadership in both the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP). He specialises in helping students excel in the core subjects of the IB Diploma Programme, including the Extended Essay (EE) and Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS).

Equally importantly, he is also a thoughtful and caring educator with a passion for learning. He believes that the most effective learning environment is proactive, student-centred, and incorporates collaborative inquiry activities. As his idol Terry Fox says, “Dreams are made possible if you try”.

ANGELA YUMI SHIRAISHI

▲ PYP Coordinator

■ Born in the United States and raised in a multicultural environment, Ms. Shiraishi has 12 years of experience teaching elementary students from multilingual backgrounds. As the PYP Coordinator, she oversees the implementation of the PYP curriculum and professional development of the teaching staff. With a focus on integrating the Units of Inquiry with the IB Learner Profile she ensures students make a smooth transition from the Early Years through the upper PYP grades. As a mother of two kids, she believes that “education thrives on love and patience” to create a supportive environment for each child.

HAN (Hannah) ZHU

▲Chief of Staff

■ With a Master of Education degree from the University of New South Wales and experience in translation and interpreting, Ms. Zhu combines language skills with educational acumen. At CISK, she oversees administrative operations, campus security and compliance. She works with the logistics team (transportation, cafeteria and boarding) to ensure the smooth operation of the campus. She is also responsible for student affairs (extracurricular activities and parent-school communication), as well as WASC accreditation, building efficient bridges for friendly educational services.

This team, with global vision and educational passion, will safeguard every child’s growth with professionalism and responsibility. At CISK, education is not just about knowledge transfer, but about unlocking potential and empowering the future. We look forward to partnering with you for your child’s bright journey!
