Alex在圭亚那出生，10年级开始在NOIC Academy就读。从对学习毫不在意，到在NOIC逐渐成长，最终获得了多伦多大学，Western，麦克马斯特大学等名校的商科&计算机科学专业的offer，Alex一路经历了很多，接下来我们就看看他的的高中成长日记吧~

当我在2023年8月从圭亚那来到加拿大时，我刚刚开始上10年级，说实话，我完全不知道自己将会面对什么。在我的家乡，我并不是一个好学生。每个学期的平均成绩大概只有40%，我对学习也不太上心。但一切都在我加入NOIC Academy之后发生了改变。

When I first come to Canada from Guyana in August 2023, I was starting Grade 10 and honestly had no idea what to expect. Back home, I wasn't excatly the best student. I was averaging around 40 percent each semester and didn't really care much about school. But everything changed when I joined NOIC Academy.

Being in a new country wasn’t easy, but NOIC made the transition a lot smoother. The teachers and mentors were patient, supportive, and always willing to help. They pushed me to do better, and slowly I started to take school more seriously. With their guidance, I went from not really caring about my grades to consistently averaging over 90 percent. I never thought I would be that kind of student, but here I am.

来到一个全新的国家并不容易，但NOIC让这段过渡期变得顺利了许多。这里的老师和导师都非常有耐心，给予我很多支持，总是乐于帮助我。他们不断鼓励我去进步，慢慢地，我开始认真对待学业。在他们的指导下，我从一个对成绩毫不上心的学生，变成了一个平均分数超过90%的学生。我从没想过自己会成为这样的学生，但现在，我真的做到了。

From attending NOIC Academy, I was also able to get accepted into some of the top universities in Canada and even in the world, something I never would have imagined possible just a couple of years ago. That is 100 percent thanks to the school’s support system and the mentors who helped me with the application process and guided me through every step.

在NOIC就读期间，我还成功申请到了加拿大乃至全球顶尖的大学，这是我在几年前完全无法想象的事情。这一切都要归功于NOIC强大的支持系统，以及一路帮助我完成大学申请的导师们。

But NOIC didn’t just help me academically, it helped me grow as a person too. I initially had an interest in playing badminton, which I wasn’t able to express back in my Guyanese high school. But ever since coming to NOIC Academy, not only was I able to join their badminton club, it also gave me the chance to meet a lot of new friends, improve my badminton skills drastically, and have something to take my mind off some of the stressful school times.

但NOIC带给我的不仅仅是学业上的提升，也让我在个人成长方面有了很大进步。我原本对羽毛球就很感兴趣，但在圭亚那的高中无法真正去参与。而自从来到NOIC Academy，我不仅加入了羽毛球俱乐部，还因此结识了很多新朋友，羽毛球技术也得到了极大提升，更重要的是，在学习压力大的时候，这项爱好也帮助我很好地调节了心态。

Looking back, I am honestly proud of how far I have come. NOIC Academy didn’t just prepare me for university, it gave me a fresh start and helped me become the best version of myself. I am grateful for the friends I have made, the teachers and mentors who believed in me, and the experiences that shaped me.

回顾这段旅程，我真的为自己取得的进步感到骄傲。NOIC Academy不仅为我上大学做好了充分准备，更为我提供了一个重新开始的机会，帮助我成为了更好的自己。我很感激在这里结识的朋友，感激那些相信我的老师和导师，也感激这段经历带给我的成长。

To any future students at NOIC, my advice is this: approach learning with a positive mindset, build relationships with your teachers and mentors, and do not be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Whether it is joining a club, making new friends, or learning a new language, you will be surprised by how much you can grow when you give it your all.

给未来的NOIC学生一句建议：用积极的心态去面对学习，和老师、导师建立良好的关系，不要害怕跳出舒适区。无论是加入一个俱乐部、结交新朋友，还是学习一门新语言，只要你愿意全力以赴，你一定会惊讶于自己的成长。
