竞争、合作、共赢——OCIS趣味团体羽毛球锦标赛圆满举行

6月25日OCIS举行了一场学期末趣味团体羽毛球锦标赛。活动得到了很多中学部的同学的积极参与，同时参加的还有部分6年级学生和Sandra老师，Russo老师，以及Pual老师。

On Jun 25, a fun team badminton tournament was organised as an end of term sports event which was joined avidly by many Secondary students, some G6 students and a number of staff （Ms. Sandra, Mr. Paul and Mr. Russo). 

活动采取了定向分组加随机分配的形式，保证了各队都有技能娴熟和相对生疏的队员，并且队员之间并不一定非常熟识，为锦标赛增加了趣味和随机的成分。

The grouping is a combination of fairness and randomness, to ensure profient players and ordinary players all exist in each team. Another end result of this is that players do not often know each other well, which makes the tournament more fun and not necessarily skill based.  

每两队交锋时均在男单，女单，男双，女双，混双这五个项目之间开展。五项目中获得三项及以上胜利的队伍得以晋级。在多轮紧张激烈的比拼后，4队，3队，5队分别拔得前三甲，每位队伍成员均获得了一枚相应的奖牌。1队和2队的队员也获得了有趣的奖品。

When two teams play, they all compete on the five items, Boy Single, Girl Single, Boys Double, Girls Double and Mix Double, whichever team wins with three and more of the five items proceed to the next round. After rounds of intensive plays, Team 4, Team 3 and Team 5, claimed the first three places, taking away a medal for each player. While Team 1 and Team 2 also bagged home some intereting trophies. 

同时也向6年级Henry Wang和7年级Caelia授予特别贡献奖，嘉奖对其为比赛计分等工作的积极付出。 

Meanwhile, special thanks go to G6 Henry Wang and G7 Caelia, who voluntarily and passionately helped with the scoring. 

本次锦标赛旨在减小个人的影响，强调团队合作和全员参与。我们也很欣喜的发现，各队各成员都积极上场，奋力拼杀。而且成功晋级的队伍往往都是凭借“非种子”球员获得的成功。尽管如此，再次我们仍要表彰一下各队表现格外出众的队员，授予其MVP最有价值球员称号。

The tournament had the intention of minimising individual impact, advocating team efforts and everyone contribution. And we were pleased to see all players got on court and played wholeheartedly, with their best efforts. And it was usually the less "prominent" players' wins got to help a team to win. Nevertheless, we would also like to highlight the following players for their outstanding performance in their own teams, by awarding them Most Valuable Players. 

经过激烈角逐OCIS羽毛球赛圆满收官！选手们挥洒汗水、突破自我，展现了活力、合作与共赢。感谢所有参赛者、老师及志愿者的付出，我们下次赛场再见！

After fierce competition, the OCIS Badminton Tournament came to a successful close! Players gave their all, pushed their limits, and showcased vitality, teamwork, and mutual success. A big thank you to all participants, teachers, and volunteers—see you next time on the court!
