Grade 1 students demonstrated their artistic expression by beginning a new display board project that creatively represents our lines of inquiry: roles and responsibilities, impact on the community, and tools and resources.

Our Grade 2 students became young authors and illustrators as they created their very own pages for our class Math Word Problem Book. Each student wrote an original math word problem and designed a matching visual display to help bring their problem to life.

In Grade 3, the students have been exploring how materials can change from solids to liquids through a process known as 'melting'. By hypothesising about how heat might be a contributing factor to this phenomenon, the students collaborated in groups to design their own scientific investigations.

Grade 4 students have been using their artistic skills to express themselves through their work in math. Students made posters to share with other students, each containing a line graph showing the results of the school food-saving initiative over time.

Grade 5 students shared their art as they prepared for their exhibition about sharing the planet. Each piece showed their ideas and feelings about taking care of the Earth. The students were excited to present their work and connect with the community.

In Grade 6A, students finalised projects by incorporating different elements, from painting to watercolouring, from crafting 3D models to creating engaging displays, from elaborating awareness campaigns to sharing their information on social media.

In Grade 6B, students dedicated their week to finalising their posters, ensuring that their visuals effectively conveyed their ideas. Additionally, they completed their display models, showcasing their creativity and attention to detail, which added a vibrant dimension to their projects.

G1 to G4 students had a fun time exploring and learning essential art techniques. Their learning focused on three key areas: proportional drawing methods, handmade paper-making processes, and mould-framing techniques. Meanwhile, G5-G6 students were focused on refining their amazing art pieces for their exhibition.

G1 to G4 students continued exploring "How We Organise Ourselves," diving into singing and dancing. They embraced artistic expression through music. Meanwhile, G5 and G6 focused on perfecting their exhibition performances, showcasing their creativity and organisational skills in a harmonious blend of art and music.

In ICT, students explored artistic expression through creating media. Grade 1 practised adding and removing text in digital writing, while Grade 3 edited and designed invitation letters using desktop publishing. Grade 4 experimented with recolouring photos, and Grade 5 created digital artworks through vector drawing. They all showcased creativity and developed their skills in using technology as a medium for artistic expression.

Grade 5 students delved into the text “The Pastoral Country”.  They explored how the author employs '动静结合' (combining movement and stillness) to vividly portray the serenity, leisure, and harmony of Dutch pastures. Through reading and discussion, students grasped the author’s admiration for this idyllic landscape, enhancing their comprehension of descriptive writing techniques.

Grade 3 students embarked on a marvelous journey of imagination through the text ‘The Other Side of the Universe.’ By creating inverse imaginative sentences beginning with ‘On the other side of the universe...,’ the children transformed their boundless creativity into words, vividly depicting astonishing parallel universes. During the artistic exploration segment, the students reimagined what different subject classrooms might look like: in art class, paints would dance on their own, Chinese class became a story-chain game, while math class was filled with delicious creativity, such as the vivid and fun equation ‘bread + sausage = hotdog.’ This lesson, through artistic modes of expression, helped students materialise the surreal imaginations from the text, effectively stimulating their innovative thinking and divergent reasoning abilities.

Grade 5 and Grade 6 students are studying the theme text on "Environmental Protection". Students are encouraged to create a short video showcasing how to use recycled materials for daily activities, such as crafting handmade items and sorting waste for recycling.

Grade 1 students learnt about ‘story sequencing’ using the the story of "If You Give a Moose a Muffin" by Laura Numeroff. Students were able to create their own story maps which allowed them to engage in both critical and creative thinking.

Grade 1 students have learned to recognise RMB and convert its units. They also participated in a shopping simulation. Through these activities, they creatively expressed their understanding of money knowledge in various ways, presenting vivid scenarios and communicating with each other, effectively integrating learning content with rich expression forms.

A bicycle was not just a means of transportation, but also a carrier where science and art intertwined. That week, Grade 6 students explored the mysteries of mechanics and mathematics through the gear transmission and triangular frame structure of bicycles. They understood how chains achieved speed changes through gear ratios and experienced the ingenious application of triangular stability in frame design. In terms of artistic expression, students used sketching to outline the dynamic lines during cycling, thus feeling the connection between mathematics and art.

Lower Primary students created "motion art" showing baseball poses using popsicle stick figures on construction paper. They traced ball trajectories with yarn while learning kinetic principles. Projects displayed physics concepts through creative expression.

Upper Primary learnt how to perform the Fosbury flop in high jump lessons. Students learnt that for jumping events, the centre of gravity of the body must be as high as possible to successfully complete this artistic jump.

The children gathered around the art table, excitedly crafting paper slippers in various styles. They carefully cut and folded the colourful paper, showcasing their creativity as they designed unique patterns and embellishments. By the end of the activity, the room was filled with a vibrant display of artistic paper slippers, each reflecting the individual flair of its creator.
