Racing suits on, helmets locked, steering engaged – students grip their wheels like pros as the starter raises their flag. The tension is absolutely electric! 

赛车服？穿上！头盔？戴牢！护具？系紧！学生们牢牢握住方向盘，个个屏气凝神盯住终点，裁判的旗帜悬在半空中，整个现场的气氛令人心跳加速。 

这不是一场普通的竞速游戏，而是爱莎科学城七年级设计课的期末项目成果展示——Soapbox Derby肥皂盒赛车挑战赛。经过长达16周的学习与实践，14组学生团队带着自己亲手打造的赛车，在正式比赛中一决高下：谁的车最快？谁最稳？谁的设计最让人眼前一亮？ 

These eye-catching racing machines aren't store-bought kits – they're 100% original creations, built from scratch by our brilliant 7th graders! 

这些造型亮眼的赛车可不是现成拼装的产品，而是七年级学生们从零开始、一步步亲手打造的原创力作。

In Design class, these students transformed into real engineers, following the complete design process from start to finish: diving deep into research and case studies, brainstorming wild creative solutions, then rolling up their sleeves to build, test, and perfect their designs.

在设计课上，他们就像真正的工程师，沿着完整的设计路径扎实推进着这个项目：从查资料、分析案例，到头脑风暴产出创意方案，再到动手制作、反复测试和优化。

Behind every single car lies an incredible cross-curricular adventure – a journey where imagination meets hands-on learning and dreams become reality. 

每一辆赛车的背后，都是一次跨学科的深度探索，也是一次创意与实践相结合的成长旅程。 

Right from the get-go, students stepped away from blueprints and toolboxes to tackle the big question:

项目一开始，学生们先跳出图纸和工具箱，回到问题的原点：

Armed with curiosity and that burning energy, they dove headfirst into research – exploring articles, videos, and real-world case studies to understand the soapbox project's challenges. 

带着强烈的探究精神和行动热情，他们查阅资料、浏览视频、分析真实案例，试图厘清这个项目背后的故事与挑战。

Their investigation produced dozens of key research questions covering safety standards, material selection, and structural performance, building a solid foundation in racing car design. 

根据资料，他们制定了数十个涵盖安全规范、材料选择、结构性能等方面的关键研究问题，逐步构建起对赛车设计的初步理解。 

But why let all that amazing research just sit on paper? Students grabbed the ACCESSFM tool to transform scattered findings into concrete design principles, analyzing classic racing car secrets.

为了让前面的调研不再只停留在纸上，学生们借助ACCESSFM工具，把之前收集的零散信息整合成具体的设计原则，拆解经典赛车的设计秘密。

From stability and lightweight materials to safety features and user requirements, they identified feasible design directions perfectly suited to their goals. This became the game-changing bridge that transformed their "what-ifs" into "here's how we'll do it!" 

从稳定性、材料轻巧度、安全配置，到目标用户需求，他们筛选出真正可行且适合自己的设计方向。这一环节成为学生将“想法”落实成“做法”的关键桥梁。

Next came the 

ultimate design showdown! 

接下来是最终的设计对决！

Students created detailed design specifications for their multiple concepts, planning everything from looks and costs to safety and structure – they even threw in environmental impact and user experience for good measure. 

学生为自己的多个设计制定了详尽的设计规范，从外观到成本，从安全性到结构，甚至考虑到环保和用户需求，逐项比较得到最优方案。

Through rigorous discussion and analysis, data-driven decisions led to their winning designs. This wasn't just about finding the perfect combo of "gorgeous" and "genius"–it was a masterclass in multi-angle, data-driven decision making. 

经过一轮轮讨论和推敲，他们根据有力的数据选出最优方案——这不仅是“颜值”与“实力”的完美结合，更是一次多角度、强理性的决策过程。

Students worked with clear roles – some cutting wood planks, others fine-tuning steering and braking systems. Through our students’constant collaboration and problem-solving, every screwdriver turn and hammer swing told the story of their dedication and grit, as 14 uniquely spectacular racing cars took shape through pure teamwork magic – the ultimate fusion of creativity and collaboration! 

学生们分工明确，有的挥锯切割木板，有的专注调整转向和刹车……大家协同配合，面对挑战不断沟通解决，手中的每一把螺丝刀和锤子都见证着他们的努力与坚持，14辆个性鲜明的赛车就在团队的默契配合中逐渐成形，成为创意与合作的完美结晶。

一切准备就绪！

On this glorious June morning, ISA Science City campus morphed into an exciting mini racetrack. Fourteen wildly different racing cars rolled out. 

阳光灿烂的六月上午，爱莎科学城校园已经摇身一变，成为热闹非凡的“迷你赛车场”。14辆风格各异的赛车陆续亮相。

Vintage British postal red catching sunlight like liquid gold, a mysterious black "Batmobile" screaming speed, while the eye-popping "Ferrari" and cheeky "Cola Express" had everyone grinning. Racing-suited drivers bounced with nervous energy as crowds erupted in cheers, teachers and classmates becoming the most enthusiastic cheerleading squad ever. 

复古的英式邮政红在阳光下泛着温润光泽，黑色的“蝙蝠侠战车”低调又锋利，彩绘着“法拉利”“可乐号”的赛车则吸引了无数目光，仿佛每一辆都藏着故事。身穿赛车服的选手整装待发，赛道两旁掌声、笑声此起彼伏，老师与同学们纷纷为他们打气。

With each sharp whistle, cars rolled forward one by one, quickly picking up speed as they glided down the slope while wheels hummed and crowds went wild.  Some glided perfectly, others wobbled with charming determination, but every single one radiated pure excitement. 

随着裁判一声声哨响，赛车依次冲出起点，在坡道上滑动而下，车轮摩擦地面的声音夹杂着阵阵欢呼。有的赛车稳健自如，有的略显晃动，但都满载欢笑和激情。

Behind each wheel sat a focused young racer, knuckles white with concentration. Meanwhile, judges leaned forward scoring design beauty, engineering smarts, and safety excellence – making this showdown fair and thrilling. 

每位赛车手都目光坚定、紧握方向盘，全神贯注迎接挑战。评委们目不转睛，从设计美感、结构合理性、安全细节等多维度仔细打分，确保比赛既公平又精彩。 

This wasn't just about crossing the finish line first – it was the ultimate test of brains, bravery, and brilliant design! Award time celebrated speed demons, creative masterminds, and safety champions alike, honoring every ounce of heart and hustle these students poured into their incredible machines. 

这是一次关于速度的挑战，更是一次关于勇气与智慧的检验。评选环节中，不仅最快速度获得嘉奖，富有创意的外观设计、安全表现优异的车辆同样赢得掌声与肯定，每一辆赛车背后都凝聚着学生们的热情与付出。 

This Soapbox Derby wasn't merely an adrenaline-pumping final sprint – it was a genuine showcase of students' cross-curricular knowledge and skills. From research to design, construction to optimization, each step deepened their understanding of teamwork, sharpened their problem-solving abilities, and developed hands-on technical skills. 

这场Soapbox Derby，不仅是一次热血澎湃的终点冲刺，更是学生们跨学科知识与技能的真实展现。从调研到设计，再到制作和优化，每一步都让他们在实践中深刻体会团队合作的力量，磨炼解决问题的能力，锻炼动手操作的技巧。 

As a vital component of the MYP Design curriculum, this challenge also enabled students to grow beyond the classroom in the real world. They learned to listen, collaborate, inquire, and act – through countless attempts, steadily becoming more mature versions of themselves. This is the authentic essence of ISA Science City's holistic education philosophy. 

作为MYP设计课程的重要环节，这场挑战也让学生们在真实世界中收获了课堂之外的成长。他们学会倾听、协作、探究与行动，在一次次尝试中，不断靠近更成熟的自己——正是爱莎科学城所倡导的“全人教育”的真实模样。
